SAVE campaigns tirelessly for endangered historic buildings. Since 1975 it has championed the cause of decaying country houses, redundant churches and chapels, disused mills and warehouses, blighted streets and neighbourhoods, cottages and town halls, railway stations, hospitals, military buildings and asylums. SAVE also publishes an annual register of buildings at risk.

The Victorian Society

The Victorian Society is the national society responsible for the study and protection of Victorian and Edwardian architecture and other arts. It was founded in 1958 to fight the then widespread ignorance of nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture. Among its thirty founder members were John Betjeman and Nikolaus Pevsner.

The Georgian Group

The Georgian Group campaigns against the neglect, maltreatment and destruction of Georgian buildings, parks and gardens in England and Wales. Its influence was crucial in introducing conservation areas in the 1960s and thus giving the first formal protection to groups of buildings.

The Building Limes Forum

The Building Limes Forum exists to encourage expertise and understanding in the appropriate use of building limes and education in the standards of production, preparation, application and after-care. It is a charitable organisation with no commercial ties and has about 400 members in the UK and overseas, the majority being actively concerned with the repair of historic buildings. The Cardigan Townscape Heritage Initiative

The centre of Cardigan has been transformed with a wealth of restored detailing. The initiative aims to aid the conservation of the town’s unique architectural landscape by providing funding for the renovation of business and retail buildings, alongside the improvement of local facilities and gap sites helping to reinstate Cardigan’s importance as an economic, historic and cultural centre in West Wales.
